The School
The Schoolroom from the 1930s/1950s provides visitors with a sense of what it was like when granddad and grandma went to school. The key words in the education of the time were ‘discipline’ and ‘learning by rote’. It’s a stark contrast to the 1980s classroom from Højvang School in Horsens. Now the teacher’s desk is on the same level as the children’s and project and group work frequently replaces the old-fashioned classroom teaching. You can meet our volunteer teachers in the School, from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm (Saturday: 12.00 noon to 3.00 pm), who will teach and tell you all about it. You will also get the chance to write with pen and ink. The School provides a number of special courses for the youngest primary school pupils.
