History you’re part of

Historic experiences

Industrimuseet isn’t just a sight to see – here you can also touch, hear, smell and taste history! In short, we promise hours of experiences for the whole family. Yes, it’s for children too.

Mighty Machines

There's something magical about our big old engines – don't you think? Then just wait until we start them… …

Step into work

You won’t just be watching – you’ll be getting hands-on at the assembly line, making big decisions in the Director’s Office and much more. Come and join…

Life beyond the factory

Go home with the workers and explore their apartments, for example (you can)……

The playground

Everyone is welcome on our playground to crawl, climb and slide your way through industrial history. The steam boiler, flywheel, nuts and more will get you ready for what you can experience inside the museum. And if you dare, you can also take a ride down the seven-metre-high gas tank slide!

Sunday, 17. May

What’s on today

You’ll get the most out of your visit if you prioritize some of the many planned activities. It’s a bit like feeding time at the zoo – it’s worth going for!

See the whole week

Starting up the machines

11.00-14.00

See the big Frichs steam engine running in the Machine Hall.

Battle at the assembly line

All day

Ready to compete? Take a seat at the assembly line and try your hand at making ball bearings for the “world market.” Two teams compete against each other – who will deliver the most? Fun for kids and adults alike.

Design your own label

All day

Explore the fascinating history of packaging over the last 150 years in the exhibition. When you’re done, you can design and print your very own label.

History in a different way

“Industrimuseet”… Some say our name is made up of the two most boring words in the language. Fair enough – but that’s also the only boring thing you’ll find here. We’re passionate about history, and that’s why we’ve created a museum that’s also an attraction. A museum that’s also family-friendly. In short, a museum that’s always worth a day out – even if you live far from Horsens.

Because history should be told, felt and experienced, so you become part of it. And it can easily give you just as many butterflies as a trip to the funfair or the cinema…
