The school – lessons as they used to be

How can you tell the difference between our classroom from 1930 and the one from 1980? Take a look at the teacher’s desk: The higher it is, the further back in time you are.

Back then, the desk stood on a raised platform, so no one could forget who was at the top of the hierarchy. By the 1980s, it had come down to floor level like an ordinary school desk.

If you really want to experience what it was like to go to school in the past, take a seat between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The classroom comes to life as the teacher leads the lesson in the old-fashioned way, and you’ll practise handwriting with pen and ink. That’ll teach you!
